Irin
This song is an adventure about leaving the safety of home, discovering how large and dangerous the world can be, and ultimately understanding the true value of the place and people left behind.
The journey begins almost innocently. One paw becomes two, then three, as the travelers venture farther from familiar roots with wooden swords and youthful ideas about bravery. But adventure quickly becomes real. Predators, traps, poison, unstable bridges, exhaustion, and fear teach them that courage does not mean being fearless. It means continuing even while afraid.
Throughout the journey, different voices seem to carry the travelers forward. Yoruba speaks about courage and perseverance. Dominican Spanish emphasizes loyalty when one companion is poisoned. Jamaican Patois brings humor, street wisdom, and survival. Mandarin and French broaden the message beyond the individual adventure, reminding them that strangers who help us along the way can become part of what “home” means.
The final return changes everything. They come back carrying both wonderful memories and scars, only to discover that returning home can also carry a cost. The empty place beside the fire reveals that a father’s love and sacrifice helped make their return possible. What once seemed like a small world now feels immeasurably precious.
The repeated question “How far?” therefore changes meaning. At first it represents curiosity about how far adventure can take them. By the end, it asks how far someone must travel before understanding what they already had.
The song’s message: Sometimes we have to travel far beyond what we know to understand the weight of home. Adventure can teach courage, friendship, sacrifice, and independence, but growing up also means discovering that home was never merely a place. It was the love waiting for us to return.

ZSORAYII sits at the center of a richly detailed fantasy adventure scene overlooking New York City and the Brooklyn Bridge, surrounded by a band of anthropomorphic animal companions. An eagle soars overhead while a raccoon explorer, three young mouse adventurers with wooden swords, a traditionally dressed animal elder holding an ornate staff, and a black cat gather among ancient trees, waterfalls, stone tunnels, and rocky terrain. ZSORAYII wears long black braids with gold accents, African inspired jewelry, and a gold Africa shaped armband. Large gold “ÌRÌN” lettering and the ZSORAYII logo appear above the group against a bright blue sky.
One paw became two,
two became three,
three carried us farther
than we ever meant to be.
We slipped beneath the moonlight,
wooden swords held high,
thought the dark was only darkness,
thought being brave meant try.
Then teeth came through the silence,
then metal snapped its jaw,
I learned the world gets bigger
when you leave the roots you know.
How far, how far,
before you know?
How far, how far,
before you turn for home?
I thought the world was waiting
just beyond the door,

How far, how far,

How far, how far,
before you turn for home?
I thought the world was waiting
just beyond the door,
No estás solo, corazón, sigue conmigo,
How far, how far,
before you know?
How far, how far,
before you turn for home?
I thought the world was waiting
just beyond the door,
Sergeant Snake Poke, yuh still deh pon yuh feet?
City have teeth, but we nah taste defeat.
Watch every shadow, don't trust pretty food,
road have rules, likkle soldier, learn dem good.
Bridge start shake and di big bird dive,
yuh fling weh di charm and keep Solomon alive.
Mi laugh through trouble, but hear what mi say:
family pull stronger than any road weh yuh stray.
We knew the roots, we knew the stone,
but not the price of coming home.
One paw, then two, through tunnel and rain,
each one carrying us home again.
An empty place beside the fire,
a father's love had paid the price.
We left believing home was small,
came back knowing it held us all.
The road gave wonder, the road left scars,
and home was enough beneath the stars.
How far, how far,
now I know.
How far, how far,
I turned for home.
I thought the world was waiting
just beyond the door,
